French Dragoons - 28mm Perry

Finished these a few days ago. Some French Dragoons added at last. These are Perry plastics which are very nice models and assemble easily.

For the Dragoon Green of the coats I used Vallejo Black Green highlighted with Vallejo Deep Green.


 4th regiment.  Elite company still with bearskins.






15th Regiment.





22nd regiment.




Picking out the sawtooth lining of the sheepskin is a little challenging with these, but not too bad!

Also using a new photography setup for these with start of 2017. Phone camera rather than tired slow old digital camera, and on wargames table rather than desk. One day I might get a proper lighting set-up, but today is not that day... :)

    "Some French dragoons added at last?" That is an understatement! Thirty-six 28mm Napoleonic cavalry is a major investment in time. Well done on tackling 36 at one time. Impressive results!

    They look great; the work on the shabraques and sheepskins is especially nice! Bearskins for the compagnie d' elite only for the 4e regiment? Was that by choice or all the bearskin heads that came with the set. Maybe need mounted sapeur? :-)

      Thanks Peter! And yes just one unit with bearskins was by choice, you get enough for may more in each unit if you want. But given I'm aiming for later period I figured most units would have switched over by then.

    Beautiful work as always Mark. I think the Perry Dragoons are some of their best work in the plastic range. You have done a splendid job on these or certain.

    Lovely work Mark. I'm thinking about taking the plunge a few of the recently added Perry metal dragoons, and I am hoping they will turn out as well.

    Lovely looking Perry dragoons, I have to say I enjoyed assembling my dozen which is unusual with plastics!
