Week 10 of the backlog and this time it is four Wurttemberg infantry battalions. Wurttemberg was a French ally almost until the end of Empire. Some very colourful facing colours and flags.
The four regiments I've painted here are Regiment 4 (Franquermont) in pink, Regiment 5 (Prinz Friedich von Wurttemberg) in blue, Regiment 1 (Prinz Paul) in yellow, and Regiment 2 (Herzog Wilhelm) in red.
In addition to Eagle Miniatures, I see Piano Wargames now make some very nice Wurttemberg figures with more variety than these earlier Eagle ones in the individual packs, and also making the entire range of units in Wurttemberg army. I will likely add some of these in the future.
They look great, nice uniforms. You never see too many Eagle miniatures on blogs etc, but they look very decent indeed. Super work on them.

DeleteBeautiful work Mark, and I am a big fan of Eagle miniatures having used them for some Spanish in the past. Lucas's stuff is also great, and he has the Guard du Corps which fills a nice gap.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lawrence, and yes he is doing some amazing work!
DeleteVery handsome units all!

DeleteOh my! These painted Wurttemberg infantry units look awesome!
ReplyDeletewell done Sir!
Thanks Phil!
DeleteVery nicely painted.
ReplyDeleteJust for reference, and definitely not intended as a criticism, Wurttemberg 1st battalions had 3 companies of Fusiliers and 1 of Grenadiers. 2nd battalions had 4 of Fusiliers.
Thank you Gary, appreciated and always good to learn more! If I recall correctly I think I decided to just represent the fusiliers for a more uniform look in this instance, and I don't think grenadiers were available from Eagle (with the transverse crest). Currently pondering doing the same for Russians and leaving out grenadier companies, not yet sure on this.
DeleteVery impressive batch of Wurttembergers!
ReplyDeleteMany thanks JOnathan :)
DeleteSplendid looking Wurttembergers! Lovely finish!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
