Week 14 of backlog, here are two Russian Horse Artillery Limbers, from Commissar Miniatures. I painted these up for our Leipzig refight last year, as Russian players didn't have limbers and I like at least horse artillery to have these!
There are a lack of companies making these unfortunately, though I guess you could do head swaps on Perry or something. See my previous post on Commissar Miniatures for more details of these ones, though given the tragic Ukrainian war these are sadly unlikely to be viable option at the present time.
Beautiful work Mark. I agree, horse artillery need limbers.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lawrence!
DeleteLovely work on them and they are rather nice figures, they should certainly look good on the table.
ReplyDeleteCheers Donnie!
Deletelike most responding, I like the limber on the table , and HA get it first. Great looking kit, head swaps in metal are a pain.
ReplyDeleteCheers Pancerni, yes I'd really want metal heads for metal limbers if doing swap, but easiest option would be extras from plastic Perry Russian Dragoon kit I imagine.
DeleteGosh! your Russian Horse Limber teams look great and lovely painting on the minis too - well done Sir!
ReplyDeleteThank you Phil, yes they are good models to work with :)
DeleteThese limbers look great! I enjoy seeing limbers on the table but hate painting them.
ReplyDeleteCheers Jonathan, yes its the assembly with the ropes etc, which is extra offputting bit for many I think!
DeleteFabulous Mark, must purchase some limbers for my Russians
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteMagnifique !
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteSplendid looking limbers! I quite like doing limbers, mostly French and a few Austrian so far, but useful bits of kit, looking forward to your massive Russian army in due course!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Thanks Iain, yes great things to have, I do wish there was a few more options for horse and guard limbers out there.
